Love Fever

Tonight, God has layed a burden in my heart to write something for the month of February. I think my eyebags have grown eyebags on top of the other because I've been so ridiculously busy and I couldn't even sleep until I finish writing this article.

The heat is on and the love fever is here. Love is everyone's common denominator. I write with enthusiasm because believe it or not it is my favorite subject and I bet it's yours too.

How ironic that in the world where everybody longs for love, true love remains elusive. Quite a mystery, isn't it? We should have included the LOVE SUBJECT in the school curriculum because we can never deny the fact that it is a very crucial part of life. Everybody wants it and yet we can't find Nemo.

You probably asked the question "Where art thou, oh Adam?" That's normal but I hope you have the same passion as I do to understand the rules of the game.

THE LOVE HUNGER

No one is attractive when they are hungry, let alone malnourished. Everything looks tasty even if they're not right for you. Hunger for love can do strange things to a woman. It can lead to frustration, despair, insecurity and some would even go as far as manipulating the circumstances and feast on the LAND-OF-DO-IT-MYSELF.

God doesn't want you hungry. If you are connected to the Author of Love and to the source of love, why are you hungry? Maybe you are not eating in His banquet. You can be in church and still miss the whole meaning of it all. There is a love relationship going on between you and the King. Sadly, most of us fail to realize that to know this as a fact is different from feeling it in your heart. You are the child of the Most High God, you know Him as a Father. Do you know Him as the Lover of Your Soul? I cannot tell you how many times this heart of mine made me suffer but I always go back to the One who gave me this heart. There were times when I couldn't stop praying for God to take away some of the emotions that I don't have the luxury to explore at the moment.

CONTROL YOUR EMOTIONS, DISCIPLINE YOUR THOUGHTS

You see feelings can be seen by your body movements. And women love to talk. Remember, for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. (Luke 6:45) Everything starts in our thought life. A women's mind process in such a way that she multiplies everything. When a man she's attracted to glances at her she begins to imagine how it would be like to be his girl. On the second glance, she begins to imagine how it would be like to be kissed by this man. It's alright, girlfriend we are all wired that way. We are created by God as a multiplier as Dr. Myles Munroe puts it, "When a man cultivates a woman she produces. Anything you give a woman multiplies. The woman is a helper, designed as an incubator. When a man gives her a sperm she produce a child. When you give her a house, she will give you a home. When a man gives her groceries, she will produce a meal. When you give her a word, she will give you a sentence back. When you give her hell, she gives you damnation."

But baby, here's the thing, you must learn to control those thoughts because you are a child of God. The Spirit of God that lives within you will guide you, you must submit to His authority over your life. It is important to know that as a woman of God you must learn to control your emotions because they are not good for you all the time. You must discipline your mind because it is the battleground of Satan our enemy. Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; (Corinthians 10:5)

When you get to know God better, He will tell you who you are. The more you love Him, the more you love yourself because you are created in His image. A woman who loves herself, takes care of herself. When you feel loved, you are a sweet aroma to those around you because everybody is attracted to love. Above all else you should guard your heart. Jesus is the keeper of our heart, He didn't ransom you for nothing. You have a purpose and it is hidden in Christ. Know the heart of your King. Love Him all you want, respond to His love and you will experience such a joy that you never experienced before. No man can ever give you the love that you seek because what you are looking for is a God-sized love. You are free to build your own romance with the Lover of Your Soul. And while you're at it, plant seeds of love. Use your gift and resources to build your siblings in Christ. Be sensitive to the needs of others because the world does not revolve on you alone. Get busy, help someone recognize and achieve their calling. God loves surprises, who knows that the seed you planted will grow elsewhere. You can never outgive God so be excited as you plant many seeds, who knows the man in your life is so grand it'll make you fall on your knees.
